Committee Members
The Health and Wellness Committee of Madison Oneida BOCES consists of a diverse group of individuals selected to present ideas and information to build an overall healthier Madison-Oneida BOCES. We are not experts in the world of Health and Wellness. Please reach out to us at any time.

Vocational Coordinator
With a deep-rooted appreciation for movement and mindfulness, I spend much of my time prioritizing the outdoors, weightlifting, running, meditation, and therapy as the pillars of my overall well-being. Growing up and living in upstate New York, I’ve been fortunate enough to experience the outdoors as a place for personal restoration and self-discovery, whether it be hiking, kayaking, camping, or just sitting outside by a campfire. In recent years weightlifting and running have become outlets for personal growth, teaching me the importance of consistency, patience, endurance, and resilience. Mentally, therapy and meditation have taught me to address internal struggles, develop self-compassion, and learn how to embrace rest and stillness. As a new co-chair of the Health & Wellness committee, I consider myself very fortunate to be able to encourage and provide support for the MOBOCES community.

As a wife and mother of 5 beautiful children, keeping a balanced lifestyle can be difficult at times but not impossible. Through the years I have built a strong foundation in my faith, surrounded myself with a support system, set-up boundaries, and have developed healthy habits with food, exercise and finances. Leading MOBOCES with my co-chair to provide the support and resources to our staff, students, and families to live stronger and healthier lives is an honor.

Although I have always strived to maintain a healthy lifestyle, I tend to be overwhelmed by the time constraints of everyday responsibilities, and with that, I have historically pushed off my own day-to-day needs because it's of greater importance to me to do all I can for those around me. I am certain this is a very familiar story to many of you. At this juncture in my life, I realize I need to get serious about doing a better job with self-care, as, with age, it is becoming increasingly more difficult. I decided to become a Health & Wellness team member as a challenge to myself to work harder to accomplish better health and wellness in my life, as well as to share this journey and newfound resources with others who may also be struggling. Additionally, I will be working to contribute new ideas that will promote the health and well-being of not only the staff of Madison-Oneida BOCES but our students as well. "There is no one giant step that does it. It's a lot of little steps." - Peter Cohen
