About BOCES
We are part of a statewide network of cooperative educational agencies that offer shared programs and support services that allow participating districts to effectively deliver instruction and maintain school operations. Learn more about BOCES.
Each BOCES agency serves specific schools in its geographic region. MOBOCES serves nine component districts in eastern Madison and southern Oneida counties: Camden, Canastota, Hamilton, Madison, Morrisville-Eaton, Oneida, Rome, Stockbridge Valley and Vernon-Verona-Sherrill. We also serve the New York State School for the Deaf in Rome.
Our Successes
MOBOCES has about 750 full-time and part-time employees, including more than 200 full-time teachers and instructional support staff and nearly 300 non-instructional service providers.
MOBOCES houses the Mohawk Regional Information Center (MORIC), one of 12 statewide information centers that offer instructional and administrative technology support, technology purchasing, data analysis and professional development services to participating schools. MORIC serves 50 school districts and 4 BOCES in a five-county region.
We maintain dozens of partnerships with school districts, colleges, businesses, government agencies and area non-profits. These partners offer our students internship experiences; provide mental health and wellness services and resources to students, staff and families; and serve on advisory committees that ensure our programs and services meet current workforce needs.
We actively participate in statewide committees, initiatives and projects that help bring a broad range of expertise to our region. Our programs have been recognized for excellence and service at the regional, state and national levels.
Our main campus is located in Verona, NY, and houses our district offices as well as middle school, high school and adult education programs. This campus includes unique features like a greenhouse, a nature trail, a saw mill and a maple syrup production facilitiy, and it is the site of the Rossetti Courtyard.
We also offer programs across the region:
Each of our nine component school districts appoints one community representative to serve on the MOBOCES regional Board of Education. Board members set policy, develop our budget and serve as liaisons with our schools. Learn more about our board.
