Health & Wellness Home

Welcome Madison-Oneida BOCES Family to the Health & Wellness Website!

The Health and Wellness Committee of Madison-Oneida BOCES has developed this website to provide you with quick access to information you might find helpful. We have tried to link to, or incorporate, information that is reliable, and in most places you will be able to identify the source of the information. However, we have not verified any of the statements or opinions in the material on other sites.

Madison-Oneida BOCES is not selling any products, not endorsing any vendors, and not promoting any point of view, other than that we will all do better if we are able to make informed choices about our lives. As with any health-related program, prior to beginning something new (exercise, lifestyle changes, etc.), it is always best to consult your physician.

We also hope this site will be a place where members of the BOCES community can submit web links in reference to their experiences, tips, recipes, and comment about the website. You can do this by visiting the Feedback link listed in the main menu to the left. The feedback is reviewed by members of the Committee as well as other associates designated by the MOBOCES Continuous Improvement Committee.

If you choose to offer feedback, please remember to be courteous and respectful of other viewpoints, and remember that the website may be read by members of the general public. Additionally, if you have a concern about the accuracy of any information contained on the site, you can communicate through the Feedback link section as well.

Committee Members

The Health and Wellness Committee of Madison Oneida BOCES consists of a diverse group of individuals selected to present ideas and information to build an overall healthier Madison-Oneida BOCES. We are not experts in the world of Health and Wellness. Please reach out to us at any time.

Computer Technical Assistant

Two years ago my youngest son, Gregory, was diagnosed with ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder) which we manage by eating a clean diet and exercising. We learn something new every day, therefore my goal in participating on this committee is to be able to share our lifestyle change with others and to continue growing in our healthy lifestyle.

Secretary to the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction

Although I have always strived to maintain a healthy lifestyle, I tend to be overwhelmed by the time constraints of everyday responsibilities, and with that, I have historically pushed off my own day-to-day needs because it's of greater importance to me to do all I can for those around me. I am certain this is a very familiar story to many of you. At this juncture in my life, I realize I need to get serious about doing a better job with self-care, as, with age, it is becoming increasingly more difficult. I decided to become a Health & Wellness team member as a challenge to myself to work harder to accomplish better health and wellness in my life, as well as to share this journey and newfound resources with others who may also be struggling. Additionally, I will be working to contribute new ideas that will promote the health and well-being of not only the staff of Madison-Oneida BOCES but our students as well. "There is no one giant step that does it. It's a lot of little steps." - Peter Cohen
