Angel Lane completed a two-year Early Childhood Education program at MOBOCES during high school. A 2026 Rome graduate, she had the opportunity to complete internships as part of her class at the Rome Art and Community Center, Griffiss Head Start, and J.D. George Elementary School, where her class was located. Those experiences solidified her plan to work in the child care and early education field, pushing her to earn her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential during her senior year.

Immediately after graduating, Angel was hired as a head teacher at Wittle Lizzie’s Childcare Center in Rome, working with 4-year-olds. She develops the daily schedule, leads classroom activities, communicates with parents, and oversees two classroom assistants.

“BOCES prepared me indefinitely for this job. I don’t think I would be succeeding without seeing how other teachers did it,” she said. “My advice to other BOCES students is to take it seriously. You didn’t choose this program for no reason, so working hard is the best way to get what you need.”
