Students Compete in SkillsUSA
Congratulations to the 25 MOBOCES students who attended the SkillsUSA Regional Competition this winter at SUNY Morrisville.
This year’s team represented 11 high schools and seven CTE programs, and students competed in 11 different contests that measured their technical and employability skills against hundreds of students from other CTE centers.
Leading the MOBOCES team:
- Carpentry senior Sam Coon (New Life Christian School) took 1st place in the Carpentry contest.
- Health Related Careers junior Monicka Ray (Camden) took 3rd place in the Basic Health Knowledge contest.
Both students will move on to the New York State Championship in April in Syracuse, along with 10 other students from MOBOCES:

- Karli Ashley and Yarilus Gonzales (Cosmetology) - Rome

- Garet Rocker (Outdoor Power Equipment) – Camden
