Annual Meeting Highlights Portrait of a Graduate

School board members and administrators from the region joined us at our 57th Annual Meeting last evening. This year, we focused the evening around NYSED’s Portrait of a Graduate initiative, highlighting through informational tables and a video the ways in which MOBOCES programs align with initiative and create new opportunities for students and districts.
“Through your collective efforts, we are building a Portrait of a Graduate – a vision that builds pathways for every child,” District Superintendent Scott Budelmann told his colleagues in his welcome remarks. “Thank you for your commitment, for your perseverance, for your wherewithal. Thank you for paving pathways for our region’s learners.”
Our Culinary Arts and Advanced Culinary Experience students planned, cooked and served a delicious plated three-course dinner, and prepared boxes of cookies for guests to take home. The Hamilton Jazz Band provided musical entertainment for the evening, and Emily Vendura from Oneida led the Pledge of Allegiance.
In addition to budget and program information, those in attendance had an opportunity to hear from candidates for the MOBOCES board: Sally Sherwood of Camden, Dr. John Costello, Sr., of Oneida, and Suzanne Carvelli of Rome. All three are incumbents running for new three-year terms beginning July 1.
