Allied Health Partnership

Allied Health Partnership

Allied Health Partnership represents a dynamic approach to program delivery for high school seniors. The wide range of job opportunities that are connected with or directly involved in the delivery of health care in our Central New York region comprise a stable, long-term job market.

In partnership with local hospitals, Madison-Oneida BOCES, has designed a program to provide an insider's study of the broad, health-related career field found in hospitals today.

Students receive a first-hand, in-depth overview of the healthcare field. Through observation within various departments of the healthcare facility, students learn what it takes to be a successful healthcare professional and how their training and education apply to real-life situations. Equally as important, students gain an appreciation and understanding for the professional demands, busy work environment, and team spirit inherent to the delivery of quality patient care.

This unique program exposes students to many hospital operations. Students rotate in various departments in order to observe and, at times, participate in actual supervised work activities. Beginning with an introduction to healthcare as a business, students will further their understanding of healthcare practices through observation in the medical, surgical, physical, occupational, respiratory, laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology departments.
