Duties:

  •  Provides training to component district staff on all media, physical and digital, in various formats, including the creation of training videos, the provision of in-person and asynchronous training, and more.
  •  Assists the SLS/CIS Coordinator in identifying and implementing new media, technology platforms, and more. Works with the SLS/CIS Coordinator on services-related initiatives.
  •  Supports media library clerk in troubleshooting, platform training, and organizational aspects of the collection, such as cataloging.
  • Performs all aspects of collection development for the media library collections.
  • Acts as administrator for the media library platform, eBooks platforms, and website platform. Resolves user level technical issues related to the media booking interface, as well as for databases and eBooks platforms. Ensures platforms are operational. Provides direct support for user questions and issues.
  • Maintains regular communications with school librarians and school CIS contacts.
  • Creates user guides, websites content, newsletters, and promotional and supporting materials to services and resources.
  • Occasional lifting, moving, transporting of kits, that may be bulky or heavy.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the CIS coordinator

 Preferred CompetenciesExperience providing direct training for, and working with, adults and/or educators. Experience In K-12 education or library youth services. Ability to provide thoughtful, responsive, and efficient customer service and communications with a variety of stakeholders. Technical and administrative skills pertaining to library, media, eBooks, and database platforms. Works well in a small, collaborative team setting.


Qualifications: LMS certification OR MLS in Library/Information Science. Civil Service position subject to exam.  

Location of Position: School Library Systems & Media Services, Costello Building, Oneida, NY

Term of Employment: 10 Month Position (9/1-6/30), .8 FTE (32 hours/week) 

Salary: Based on the contract, depending on background and experience 

Starting Date: September 1, 2024
