Project CONNECT

Project CONNECT

Project Connect provides an alternative pathway to earning a high school equivalency credential for 16-21 year-old out of school youth or those at risk of not graduating on schedule because of insufficient credits for high school completion. An individual service plan is designed for each student. The plan may include preparation classes, career and academic counseling, placement in a Career and Technical Education program, case management and coordination with community agencies.

Students are eligible for Project Connect if they meet criteria established by the New York State Education Department and are selected by their respective school district and an intake assessment team. As of January 1, 2014 the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) replaced the GED ® test as the method of earning a New York State High School Equivalency diploma. Eligibility to test for the TASC is dependent on the student completing the prescribed program. Sample TASC test questions can be viewed at www.ctb.com/tasc.
